[A] Budget: Looking for Proposal
[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide fire hydrant maintenance and repair service to the government authority located in Stamford, CT.
- Reinstallation of a hydrant post collision utilizing a collision kit supplied by the city.
- Repair of a hydrant with a broken stem or operating nut. All repairs parts supplied by the city.
- Repair or replacement of a hydrant nozzle. Nozzle supplied by the city.
- Repair of a hydrant that is leaking. Hydrant parts supplied by the city.
- Connect fire hydrants only to water mains adequately sized to handle fire flows.
- Install hydrants as plumb as possible.
- Locate fire hydrants in accordance with the applicable fire code, the requirements of the local fire authority, or the applicable municipal design standard.
- Unless otherwise required by Item 3, ensure hydrants are installed away from the curb far enough to avoid damage from or to vehicles as they turn. The recommended setback is 2-ft (0.6-m) minimum from the face of the curb to the point on the hydrant nearest to the curb.
- The pumper outlet nozzle should face the street to enable a quick connection to the fire pumper
(2) Contract term will be two years.
